Amanda Taylor 

Amanda Taylor serves as the assistant vice president for civic and global engagement at AASCU. In this role, she leads national initiatives that support regional public universities in preparing students to be engaged citizens and globally conscious leaders. Taylor brings over 20 years of experience as a higher education leader and faculty member. Most recently, she served as assistant vice president for inclusive excellence at American University (DC), where she worked closely with university leaders, faculty, staff, and students to implement the university’s strategic plan, including dialogue practices to enhance campus climate. She also directed a graduate program in intercultural and international communication in the School of International Service, where she designed and led international education programs. Taylor is deeply committed to regional public universities’ mission as engines of social mobility, democracy, and opportunity, and is a passionate advocate for student-centered learning anchored in community. Taylor holds a doctorate in education from Harvard University (MA) and a bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Virginia.
